Now I sell greeting cards

I have decided to sell some greetings cards on Etsy and Folksy. The idea is that you buy 4 cards and then choose which of my images you can have mounted on the cards, So either 4 of the same image or 4 different ones, it’s up to you.

I have listed them on both my Etsy and Folksy shops.

My new greetings cards

2 more prints sold!

Hooray for me! Sold two more prints. This time over at forums.somethingawful.com

They have started a sales thread selling work by a number of artists and someone ordered two of my prints. That’s a total of 4 sales in 3 weeks.

All I need to do now is make a sale on Etsy.com as all my sales have come from Folksy or SomethingAwful so far!

Sale number 2! I am on fire now!

Just sold another copy of this:

Go Away, I'm Reading

Only a few thousand more sales and I’ll be debt free!!

Added new prints to my Etsy shop

As the title says, I have added some new prints to my Etsy shop. No little people or Jelly Babies this time, just some of my “normal” photos like this one:

This one is an infrared shot of a willow tree I took a couple of years ago. Everyone thinks it’s snow or ice, but it’s not. In fact it was taken on a very sunny, hot day in Beechurst Gardens in Haywards Heath.

Updated my website. Finally

I decided to update www.dan-jackson.com to make it look a bit more “professional” and a bit less “home made”!

The Flash galleries seem to be quite good, but they are a bit slow loading. When you open up a gallery allow a minute or so for all the photos to load. You’ll know when they have loaded as it will look like a stack of photos on the screen.

Subscribe to me. Please!

I have just added a “subscribe to me” widget over on the right hand side of the blog. If you sign up, you should get regular emails telling you when I have made a new post.

…..asuming it works OK!

Things I’ve found on Folksy (part 1)

Probably part 1 of a million. I’ll try to post links of cool stuff I have found on Etsy and Folksy. So here’s my first version

First up is this cool pin badge based on “heart” health meters by Omegazoid  – super geeky and very cool:

This picture is wonderful. We’re looking for some “quirky” art to go in our new loft conversion and this is in our list of “maybes” if we do go ahead and buy some stuff:

Little Ninja by Lilley’s is great. I want lots of these but can’t really afford lots of them because it’s after Christmas and I have no momey. Boo!

Of course, if you don’t want to buy any of these, you can also go to my shop and buy something like this:

My first sale!

Hooray! I go away for Christmas for a few days and whilst I am away, I sold my first ever item on Folksy.com!

Aces!

It was a print of this:

Christmas Eve

It’s 8:30AM on Christmas Eve and I am at work. Boo.

It’s OK though, should be out of the office before 3. This will be my last post for a few days as I am off down to Sussex for Christmas. Back on Saturday 27th.

Whilst I’m away, why not visit my Etsy shop and buy some prints! That’d be a nice Christmas present for me, thanks!

Why Wordpress? Dan? Why?

I tried making a blog using Blogger.com but after 30 minutes I got annoyed. There was hardly any flexibility, the themes were all a bit samey and I would have had to put up with an address that was something like http://dansphotographs321.blogger.com

I think www.dan-jackson.com/blog has a much better ring to it.

Seeing as I pay $10 a month to Dreamhost to host my main site – www.dan-jackson.com I thought I may as well use the services I pay for and install a nifty Wordpress blog.

Things that are great about Wordpress:

  • The “Dashboard” interface is bloody ace. So easy to use and so many options
  • The themes are great. All free and far more interesting than the Blogger ones.
  • All in One SEO pack? Bloody brilliant.
  • It’s not Blogger.

Just realised, I have mentioned my Etsy shop for at least 10 minutes. Go there now and buy my stuff.
